Dar Ma Ward : Moroccan hospitality in a real guesthouse
Very easily accessible from Bouibat Layadi door, in homage to the legendary Boss, Dar Ma Ward or Rose House is a luxurious jewel hidden behind a modest door, as the tradition demands. It is an intimist riad in the heart of the lively Marrakesh medina, located in the Sidi Bel Abbès's holy and authentic district, still protected from the tourist assaults. Real guesthouse where the owners, Nadège and Emmanuel, live and receive with a big generosity all year, Dar Ma Ward was renovated with an eminent attention to detail in the respect for the Moresque architecture, without neglecting the comfort.
The spacious house is built around its lush patio, which embalms the jasmine, the orange blossom and the gardenia. In the shade of banana trees, the central fountain, real marble flower always delicately dressed in rose petals, lets escape a soft murmur which replies to bird singings, permanent residents of the riad. The heated pool, handmade with Fez zelliges and ordered so as to preserve the peace of the place is a real relaxation area after a day in the souks and the agitation of Marrakech. The ground floor also shelters bhou or a lounge opened onto the patio, as well as a large fireplace lounge very convenient to have dinner or enjoy the available exhaustive library.
Upstairs, there are two bedrooms and three luxurious suites with a zen and refined style, and which give pride of place of tadellakt and plaster, without forgetting the cedar woodwork. To these noble and well-kept materials meet modern amenities essential to the well-being, such as a high quality bedding with an Egyptian percale linen and microfiber duvets, air conditioning, natural personalized products and towel drier in bathrooms, audio system and free access Wi-Fi throughout the riad, individual safes ... but especially, no TV ! Finally, the terrace fully furnished in “beldi” style, so beloved for the owners, allows to have breakfast with an open view on the Atlas peaks, or simply to let time pass with a book.
On a gastronomy side, our young but very talented cook will be intent on making you discover the treasures of traditional Moroccan cooking, from the famous tagine to more subtle and less known dishes of which only she holds the secret. To accompany your meals, Nadège and Emmanuel, real Epicureans who worked about ten years in the world of wine in France, have carefully selected the most successful wines of Morocco and also offer French wines at your choice, as well as a wide range of liqueurs and Cuban cigars.

Moroccan riads ‘guesthouses’ have to collect 2 taxes upon their guests:
- Tourism Promotion Tax (TPT): the amount of the tax depends on the riad category, 0.00 dirhams per people per night for Dar Ma Ward. That tax is collected by the riads and integrally put back into Morocco National Tourist Office.
- City Tax (from January 2008): like the hotels and restaurants, ‘guesthouses’ must now collect the City tax. The amount of the City tax is 0.00 dirhams per people (older than 12 y-o) and per night for Dar Ma Ward.
Reservation and cancellation policies of the riad
Booking policy :
- For every booking of 2 rooms or more, or for 5 nights or more, as well as for Christmas - New Year's Eve period, 30% of the total amount of the reservation must be paid to the riad owners, 30 days before the check in, by bank transfer.
Cancellation policy:
In the event of a reservation cancellation, the Dar Ma Ward will apply the following cancellation policy and will charge any applicable fees to the client credit card used during the reservation process :
- Cancellations received 21-30 days before the confirmed arrival date are subject to a cancellation fee of 30% of total projected room costs.
- Cancellations received 11-20 days before the confirmed arrival date are subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of total projected room costs.
- Cancellations received 0-10 days before the confirmed arrival date are subject to a cancellation fee of 100% of total projected room costs.
- Every cancellation of a booking for Christmas - New Year's Eve period, made less than 30 days before the stay, is subject to a cancellation fee of 100% of total projected room costs.
Cancellation fees will be charged to the credit card supplied during the reservation process.
